FACE Nepal is run locally by a committee of Nepali citizens including a Managing Director, Programme Coordinator and volunteer Advisory Board.

An International Board of Directors also volunteers their expertise and provides governance. More information on each is provided below.

International Board Of Directors

The International Board of Directors (BOD) provides additional knowledge and scrutiny to the activities of FACE Nepal. The Board of Directors also receives direct feedback from local Nepali communities and FACE Nepal volunteers via video-chat, the web page or email. It works in close collaboration with the local FACE Nepal team, and many members are former volunteers themselves.

The BOD is responsible for final approval of strategic plans, community diagnostics and project funding. The BOD also holds authority over the appointments for Managing Director (MD) and Advisory Board members, and receives annual accounts and auditing documents. The BOD also receives regular updates on projects, current volunteer activities, and the welfare of sponsored children.

Advisory Board

FACE Nepal is primarily run by a volunteer committee of Nepali citizens. The Advisory Board (AB) consists of 6 men and women of various castes, ensuring a range of representation. The Board's current members work in areas of public schooling & community education, environmental conservation, health and social work.

The Advisory Board establishes community development plans and approves projects using the feedback of FACE Nepal volunteers and the local community. This is done in collaboration with the BOD.

The AB meets every two months to complete all of the above, as well as to support the operations of the Managing Director.

Managing Director

The Managing Director (MD) oversees all local activities including volunteer support. The MD has a close relationship with local communities and communicates needs and concerns to the AB. The MD is one of the two paid members of staff, though the current MD also maintains a separate full-time role as head of a local school.

Programme Coordinator

The Programme Coordinator is the second paid member of staff at FACE Nepal. Their primary role is to assist the MD in all of their duties. The Coordinator also provides computer expertise with accounting and auditing as well as volunteer assistance.
